Hi, we’re Kate and Paul. We live in Ramsgate, a beautiful seaside town on the South East coast of England. We are traditional artists working in oils, charcoal and pencil. We have over 30 years of experience working as artists, creating portraits of people, pets and illustrations for books and magazines. This website is dedicated to pet portraits and pet portrait commissions so please feel free to visit one of our galleries. '“If you are looking for a true likeness of your cat in a beautifully drawn portrait, then I would highly recommend Kate at Purely Pet Portraits.
I wanted a present for my partner of her beloved cat who had died, leaving a big gap in the home. I was concerned whether any artist would be able to capture the look, the detail and especially the character of Porky.
Having spoken with Kate, I sent her several photographs and she came back with three she thought suitable. She then sent me these with examples of how the charcoal drawing would look together with its grey background.
Throughout the process, Kate kept in touch. My early concerns about whether Porky’s unique character would survive soon vanished. Kate brilliantly captured a true likeness of Porky, especially her slightly ‘grumpy’…don’t mess with me look.
The present of Porky’s portrait was a triumph. It is much admired and now looks down proudly on to the room where she enjoyed many happy times.”
